The Peoples Archive of Rural India (PARI) is a “living journal and an archive” that publishes and gathers all things related to “the everyday lives of everyday people” in India. Under categories such as “Farming and its Crisis”, “The Rural in the Urban” and “Visible Work, Invisible Women” audio clips, photos, texts, and videos document endangered cultural practices and forms of knowledge from across the Indian countryside. Sourcing content from contributors within rural communities, PARI presents an open archive that goes beyond sole reliance on professionalised ‘experts’.
